I write the backend, I write the frontend, and then I put it into production myself. That last part is what has taught me the most.
I work mostly with Node.js, React and MongoDB, and I am comfortable in the territory many prefer to avoid: configuring Nginx, managing processes with PM2, opening ports on an uncooperative firewall, and leaving a certificate that renews itself.
I am not only interested in something working locally. I care that it comes back up after a reboot, that it holds, and that whoever inherits it understands why it is built this way.

Outside work I run my own infrastructure: an ARM machine where I learn by breaking things and fixing them.
01 · Self-hosting
I run an ARM instance on Oracle Cloud over Ubuntu: systemd, memory limits, iptables and certificates. Everything a PaaS hides from you, here you configure yourself.
02 · Community
A Java service managed by systemd with capped memory, automatic backups, and peaceful coexistence with everything else on the box.
03 · Automation
Scripts that do the boring work: moving files, querying APIs, generating reports, and telling me when something goes down.
04 · Cloud
S3, EC2 and CloudFront applied to real projects, always comparing against what the same thing costs to run on a machine of my own.
